These Terms of Use form an agreement between you and Hidayah ("we," "us," or "our") for your use of the Hidayah iOS application and related services (the "App"). By downloading or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
License and access
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for your own non-commercial use on Apple-branded devices you own or control, as permitted by Apple's Usage Rules. The App may create an anonymous account to provide its features. You are responsible for access to your device and for using the App lawfully.
Acceptable use
You may not misuse the App. In particular, you may not violate applicable law; interfere with the App, its security, or other users; attempt to access systems or data without authorization; reverse engineer or decompile the App except where law permits; bypass usage limits or subscription controls; or use the App to generate, distribute, or facilitate harmful, fraudulent, or unlawful content.
AI, religious content, and feature accuracy
Hidayah provides AI-assisted Islamic information, reflections, and content based on the sources and settings available in the App. AI output can be incomplete, inaccurate, outdated, or unsuitable for your circumstances. It is not a fatwa, definitive religious ruling, or a substitute for a qualified scholar, imam, or other professional advice. You are responsible for evaluating any output before relying on it.
Prayer times, qibla direction, translations, reminders, and other features may depend on device sensors, location, network services, selected settings, and third-party data. They are provided for convenience and are not guaranteed to be error-free, uninterrupted, or appropriate for every location or practice.
Your content
You remain responsible for the messages, custom dhikr, and other content you submit to the App. You grant us a limited right to process that content solely to operate, secure, and improve the App as described in our Privacy Policy. Do not submit information that you do not want processed by the service providers needed to generate AI responses.
Subscriptions and purchases
Some features require a paid subscription. Prices, billing periods, trial eligibility, and renewal terms are shown in the App and confirmed by Apple before purchase. Payments are processed by Apple, not by us. If you purchase an automatically renewing subscription, it will renew unless you cancel it in your Apple account subscription settings before the applicable renewal date. You can use the App's restore-purchases option for eligible prior purchases. Refund requests are handled by Apple under its policies.
Privacy and permissions
Our Privacy Policy explains how the App processes information, including chat content, location data, analytics, subscription data, and advertising attribution. Location, notifications, and tracking permissions are optional and can be changed in iOS Settings. Declining a permission can limit the corresponding feature.
Availability and changes
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features, including AI models, subscription offerings, and free usage limits, when reasonably necessary to operate, secure, improve, or comply with law. We do not guarantee that the App or any feature will always be available.
Disclaimers and liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss arising from reliance on App content, loss of data, or inability to use the App.
Termination and data requests
You may stop using the App at any time. We may suspend or end access where reasonably necessary for security, misuse, legal compliance, or operation of the service. Signing out does not delete your on-device or server-side data. Apple
Apple is not a party to these Terms and is not responsible for the App, its content, support, maintenance, claims, or any dispute relating to the App. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms when the App or our services change. The updated Terms will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. Your continued use after the effective date of the update means you accept the updated Terms.
